I\u2019ve been using the SingleCare card for six months now. I\u2019m retired\u2014I ran a graphics shop for the Army and before that I was a locomotive engineer\u2014and the tiers on my Medicare Part D coverage recently changed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For those who don\u2019t know, <\/span>Medicare Part D<\/span><\/a> is optional extra coverage that helps to offset the cost of prescriptions. In exchange for a monthly premium, the Part D plan reduces the price of most medications. But, certain drugs are not covered.<\/span><\/p>\n

I went in to get a prescription filled for <\/span>Lovenox<\/span><\/a> (<\/span>enoxaparin sodium<\/span><\/a>). It\u2019s a medication used to treat blood clots. The pharmacy told me that even with my Part D plan, the generic was going to be $576. I said, \u201cThis is ridiculous!\u201d I checked the GoodRx app, and it was going to be $370. I then checked the <\/span>SingleCare app<\/span><\/a>, and it was only $270! So, I told the pharmacist, \u201cI want you to run my SingleCare card.\u201d I saved $300. \"A<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

I have a second prescription, <\/span>Ranolazine ER<\/span><\/a>, which is the generic for <\/span>Ranexa<\/span><\/a>, to treat chronic angina. That was $101 with my <\/span>Part D insurance<\/span><\/a>, but only $83 with SingleCare, so I used the card for that as well. Those savings make a big difference when you\u2019re on a fixed income in retirement.<\/span><\/p>\n
