Each year, 98,000 deaths occur in U.S hospitals due to medical errors, in which sleep deprivation is a significant contributor. Additionally, an estimated 100,000 vehicle crashes are caused by drowsy driving every year, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Getting less than seven hours of sleep also increases your risk of developing arthritis, depression, asthma, and many other chronic health conditions.
