Whether it\u2019s for you or a loved one, try these steps to schedule your jab:<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1. Connect with Facebook groups<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019re having trouble finding a COVID vaccine appointment near you, Facebook groups, such as <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vaccinehunter.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vaccine Hunters<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, are great resources for advice. Community-based groups (based on your state, or if you\u2019re located in a major city) help others find vaccine appointments and give advice on the vaccines in case you\u2019re concerned.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2. Check real-time aggregator websites<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019re searching for a vaccine appointment at a pharmacy in your town or nearby, websites like <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vaxxmax.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">VaxxMax<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/vaccinefinder.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">VaccineFinder<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vaccinespotter.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">COVID-19 Vaccine Spotter<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> can help you find an appointment in real-time, based on your location. By entering your zip code, you can see all available COVID vaccine types and appointments either in your town or in nearby areas if you\u2019re willing to travel.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3. Join a standby list.<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When patients cancel or miss their appointments, it leaves unused doses at the end of the day. Most of the COVID vaccines have a limited shelf life and typically need to be administered the same day. You can join standby lists by calling your local pharmacy\u2014be persistent and try first thing when they open.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">4. Look into pharmacy appointments during off hours.<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While a pharmacy\u2019s website usually updates in real-time once appointments are available, many have found new appointment availability appears during off hours. Check to see if your local pharmacy has appointments either late in the evening or early morning to help better your chance in finding and choosing a location near your home.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It can be frustrating when you don\u2019t get an appointment on the first try.
