This is on top of coping with other issues, like the isolation and uncertainty that\u2019s been lingering over the past year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The worldwide prevalence of adults with ADHD is around 5%, according to the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/ajp.psychiatryonline.org\/doi\/full\/10.1176\/ajp.2007.164.6.942\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">American Journal of Psychiatry<\/span><\/i><\/a><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The condition is often managed with a combination of medication\u2014usually stimulants like Adderall, Ritalin, or Concerta\u2014and lifestyle modifications. Most adults with ADHD benefit from working with a qualified therapist or life coach to establish time management and organizational strategies to cope with symptoms such as forgetfulness, distractibility, fidgeting, disorganization, and poor sense of time. Due has an auto-snooze function, however, it will continue to remind you until you\u2019ve marked your tasks as complete\u2014which great news for those with ADHD who can easily tune out the first reminder. Asana allows users to create a workflow of actionable list items for each project, which is a very useful feature for those coping with ADHD. Breaking tasks down into small steps can help adults with ADHD avoid feeling overwhelmed with where to start\u2014and then procrastinating. This is an app that\u2019s often used by teams to organize workflows and get things done, but it can also be used for individuals to coordinate their tasks and lists by priority. Although it\u2019s not a productivity app, Headspace makes an appearance on this list because it helps users become more mindful, and people with ADHD will benefit from the meditations and focus playlists that are available.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There\u2019s a notable link between ADHD and anxiety and depression, and adopting a mindfulness and meditation practice is an alternative treatment that can help people cope with their symptoms. Edlestein notes that many of the tools that come standard on most modern smartphones, such as alarms or reminders, can be immensely helpful for staying organized with ADHD. He even recommends that his patients use a separate device for productivity tools than leisure\/social use.
