Both medicines are approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Medication use with Prozac or Xanax is often employed along with psychotherapy with a psychologist or psychiatrist.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"drug-overview-differences\">What are the main differences between Prozac and Xanax?<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.singlecare.com\/prescription\/prozac\/what-is\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Prozac<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.singlecare.com\/prescription\/fluoxetine-hcl\">fluoxetine<\/a>) is part of a group of drugs called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs).
