These receptors are found in various tissues, including the heart.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While carvedilol\u2019s main action is as a beta-blocker, it also works as an alpha-blocker.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cAlpha receptors are found in blood vessels, and their activation can cause those blood vessels to narrow, resulting in increased blood pressure,\u201d Dr. Hascalovici says. Bananas<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Because potassium-rich foods like bananas have been shown to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/25715086\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">potentially interact with carvedilol<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, you may want to eat them only in moderation. You may feel dizzy or lightheaded when combining carvedilol and alcohol.
