With its half-life, Mounjaro will naturally leave your system over time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cAny decision to stop should be made in consultation with your healthcare provider to ensure a smooth transition, whether it\u2019s stopping cold turkey or considering a tapering approach if it aligns with clinical judgment,\u201d Dr. Foxman says.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you take a higher weekly dose (the maximum weekly dose is 15 mg) and are not experiencing any harmful symptoms, your healthcare provider may reduce your dose every four weeks to prevent out-of-control spikes. This taper schedule may be most helpful for those <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/jamanetwork.com\/journals\/jama\/fullarticle\/2812936\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">taking Mounjaro at maintenance<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> over longer periods of time.
