Adderall can be used to treat ADHD in adults and children 3 years and older. It is also FDA-approved to treat <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.singlecare.com\/conditions\/narcolepsy-treatment-and-medications\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">narcolepsy<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in adults and children 6 years and older. Doing so will not speed up the absorption of Adderall XR; it will absorb similarly to swallowing the capsule whole.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 id=\"drugs-that-may-affect-adderall-absorption\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Drugs that may affect Adderall absorption<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.singlecare.com\/blog\/adderall-alternatives\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Adderall<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.singlecare.com\/blog\/adderall-xr-alternatives\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Adderall XR<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> have many drug interactions with various effects to consider.
