They work by blocking the action of CGRP, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/americanmigrainefoundation.org\/resource-library\/anti-cgrp-treatment-options\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a protein known to trigger migraines<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Though very similar, these drugs have slight differences in their side effects and specific uses.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"nurtec-vs-ubrelvy-key-differences\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nurtec vs. Ubrelvy: Key differences<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cUbrelvy is used to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.singlecare.com\/conditions\/migraine-treatment-and-medications\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">treat migraines<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with or without <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.singlecare.com\/conditions\/migraine-with-aura-symptoms\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">aura<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Nurtec can be used as a preventive treatment due to its longer half-life, providing significant pain relief for up to 48 hours, per <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.integrativeheadacheny.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lauren R.
