Is Zyprexa better than Vraylar?<\/span><\/h2>\n

There are no clinical trials directly comparing Vraylar and Zyprexa. A meta-analysis (review of many studies) published in <\/span>The Lancet<\/span><\/i><\/a> examined 32 antipsychotic medications for the treatment of schizophrenia, although not all medications studied are available in the United States. Key findings related to Zyprexa (olanzapine) include how effective it is in reducing overall symptoms compared to many other drugs, particularly in improving depressive symptoms and social functioning. However, olanzapine was also noted for causing significantly more weight gain and elevated prolactin levels compared to most other medications, and it carried a higher risk of extrapyramidal symptoms (EPS) compared to placebo (inactive medicine).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The study did not report specific findings for Vraylar compared to other antipsychotic medications.<\/span><\/p>\n

Common <\/span>side effects of Vraylar<\/span><\/a> include headache, insomnia (trouble sleeping), and movement problems called extrapyramidal symptoms (EPS).<\/span><\/p>\n

Common <\/span>Zyprexa side effects<\/span><\/a> in adults include decreased energy, dry mouth, increased hunger, sleepiness, shaking, constipation, dizziness, restlessness, and changes in behavior.
