Veterinarians prefer drugs like <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.merckvetmanual.com\/endocrine-system\/the-adrenal-glands\/addison-disease\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">prednisone<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> paired with the mineralocorticoid desoxycorticosterone pivalate to achieve the full effects of cortisol.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"is-methylprednisolone-safe-for-dogs\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Is methylprednisolone safe for dogs?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The FDA has approved methylprednisolone tablets and injections for use in dogs. When prescribed by a veterinarian, methylprednisolone is considered safe relative to the problems it treats.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Because of its potent effects, methylprednisolone may not be safe for every dog to take.
