It is <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/books\/NBK430900\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">defined<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> as fasting blood glucose greater than 125 mg\/dL or 180 mg\/dL two hours after a meal. It\u2019s typically caused by eating too many carbohydrates, not getting enough physical activity, and being stressed or sick. The condition impairs the stomach\u2019s ability to empty its contents (delayed stomach emptying), leading to nausea. In a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC5125878\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">study<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of 156 diabetic individuals with gastroparesis, 96% experienced nausea.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/books\/NBK430794\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Other symptoms of gastroparesis<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vomiting<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Early satiety (feeling full after eating a small amount)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Postprandial fullness (feeling uncomfortably full after a normal-sized meal)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Heartburn<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gas and bloating<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 id=\"pancreatitis\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pancreatitis<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.endocrine.org\/patient-engagement\/endocrine-library\/hormones-and-endocrine-function\/pancreas-hormones\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">pancreas<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is an organ in the abdomen that produces hormones like glucagon and insulin to maintain healthy blood sugar levels. In people with diabetes, the pancreas struggles to keep up with insulin production, ultimately leading to cell damage. As a result, individuals with Type 2 diabetes are at<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/journals.lww.com\/ajg\/abstract\/2011\/09000\/risk_of_acute_pancreatitis_in_type_2_diabetes_and.21.aspx\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">increased risk<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of developing<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.singlecare.com\/conditions\/pancreatitis-treatment-and-medications\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">pancreatitis<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (inflammation of the pancreas).
