It is often taken alongside <\/span>sertraline<\/span><\/a>, known by the brand name <\/span>Zoloft<\/span><\/a>, which is a <\/span>selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor<\/span><\/a> (<\/span>SSRI<\/span>) used to treat depression, <\/span>obsessive-compulsive disorder<\/span> (<\/span>OCD<\/span>), and other <\/span>mental health conditions<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

According to medical experts, <\/span>Viagra<\/span> and <\/span>sertraline<\/span> can safely be taken together and are often used alongside each other as the best course of treatment. Can you take <\/span>sertraline<\/span> with <\/span>Viagra<\/span>?<\/span><\/h2>\n

According to <\/span>Charles Sweet, MD-MPH<\/span><\/a>, a psychiatrist at <\/span>Linear Health<\/span><\/a> in Austin, Texas, it is safe to take <\/span>sertraline<\/span> with <\/span>Viagra<\/span>, as <\/span>there are no major interactions<\/span><\/a> known between the two, according to the <\/span>FDA<\/span>. \u201cIn some men, the benefit could be an overall improvement in sexual satisfaction in some men who suffer from depression and ED and are using both together,\u201d Dr. Sweet says.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Many <\/span>SSRIs<\/span>, such as <\/span>sertraline<\/span>, are <\/span>known to cause sexual difficulties<\/span><\/a>, such as lack of arousal, difficulty reaching orgasm, and even <\/span>ED<\/span>. Other <\/span>SSRIs<\/span>, including <\/span>fluoxetine<\/span> (<\/span>Prozac<\/span>), <\/span>paroxetine<\/span> (<\/span>Paxil<\/span>), <\/span>escitalopram<\/span> (<\/span>Lexapro<\/span>),<\/span> and <\/span>citalopram<\/span> (<\/span>Celexa<\/span>), can also cause <\/span>ED <\/span>in men.<\/span><\/p>\n

There is currently no research to suggest that taking <\/span>Viagra<\/span> reduces or limits the <\/span>effectiveness of sertraline<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
