Drug-drug interactions can also affect metabolism, causing an abnormal increase or decrease in the blood concentrations of a drug. Dr. Hakimi says some drugs, like <\/span>ketoconazole<\/span><\/a> (an antifungal) and <\/span>ritonavir<\/span><\/a> (an antiretroviral for HIV), may slow down the breakdown of budesonide and formoterol, making them last longer than expected. <\/span><\/p>\n
