Theoretically, fluid retention could lead to a higher body weight, but the effect would be temporary. People change their routines. They stop drinking water because they\u2019re scared of leaks, or they avoid going out altogether. And then they wonder why they feel sluggish, foggy, or like their body isn\u2019t cooperating.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If someone\u2019s trying to maintain a healthy weight while on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.singlecare.com\/prescription\/gemtesa\/dosage\">Gemtesa<\/a>, here\u2019s what healthcare professionals recommend:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Fill your plate with whole, unprocessed foods.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Swap packaged snacks for fruits, vegetables, healthy fats, and whole grains. Amy Woodman, RD, registered dietitian and founder of <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.farmingtonvalleynutrition.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Farmington Valley Nutrition and Wellness<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in Simsbury, Connecticut, emphasizes the importance of eating enough protein and fiber. She says beans and lentils offer both. \u201cFiber has the added benefit of keeping you regular, which is important because constipation can exacerbate overactive bladder symptoms by putting pressure on the bladder.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Exercise regularly. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cKeep moving in ways that feel safe,\u201d Dr. Sparacino says. \u201cThat might mean at-home workouts, pelvic floor\u2013friendly exercises, or even just short walks throughout the day.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Stay hydrated.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Dr. Sparacino says it\u2019s a myth that drinking less water helps with OAB. Anticholinergic drugs used to treat OAB include <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.singlecare.com\/prescription\/vesicare\/what-is\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vesicare<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (solifenacin succinate), Ditropan (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.singlecare.com\/prescription\/oxybutynin-chloride\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">oxybutynin<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">), Detrol (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.singlecare.com\/prescription\/tolterodine-tartrate\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">tolterodine<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">), and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.singlecare.com\/prescription\/darifenacin-hydrobromide-er\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">darifenacin<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Like Gemtesa, anticholinergics do not directly cause weight gain.
