Does Blue Cross Blue Shield cover Zepbound?<\/span><\/h2>\n

When Zepbound is covered, prior authorization is usually required, and the patient may need to meet clinical requirements such as a BMI of 30 or more or a BMI of 27 or more with a comorbid condition like <\/span>hypertension<\/span><\/a> or <\/span>Type 2 diabetes<\/span><\/a>, and documented weight management efforts like a low-calorie diet and increased physical activity. In order to continue receiving Zepbound coverage, you may also need to prove you\u2019ve lost a certain amount of weight while using the drug.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Some pharmacies and facilities previously made compounded tirzepatide, but this was only allowed while there was a national shortage.
