Therefore, a serving of cantaloupe could satisfy up to 7% of your daily need for fiber.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"is-cantaloupe-safe-for-everyone\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Is cantaloupe safe for everyone?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cantaloupe is generally safe to eat, Dr. Li says. However, there are some people who should avoid this fruit, such as people who are allergic to cantaloupe. \u201cIf you have oral allergies, you might experience itching or tingling after eating cantaloupe,\u201d Dr. Rao says.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Those with diabetes might want to enjoy cantaloupe in moderation. \u201cPeople with diabetes who need to watch their sugar intake should be cautious in eating cantaloupe because of the high glycemic content of melons,\u201d Dr. Li explains.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In some cases, cantaloupes may carry pathogens that cause <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.singlecare.com\/blog\/how-to-prevent-food-poisoning\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">foodborne illnesses<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, such as salmonella and listeria. \u201cFoodborne illnesses can be dangerous for individuals who are immunocompromised, older, or pregnant,\u201d Brownstein says.
