Additionally, because it helps people reduce caloric intake, semaglutide can help with excess body fat loss, which leads to improvement in insulin resistance and blood sugar levels,\u201d she shares.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"does-insurance-cover-wegovy-for-prediabetes\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Does insurance cover Wegovy for prediabetes?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In most cases, insurance plans won\u2019t cover Wegovy specifically for prediabetes. That\u2019s because prediabetes isn\u2019t one of the FDA-approved indications for the medication. If a healthcare provider prescribes Wegovy for prediabetes, it\u2019s considered off-label use. Based on this information, the cost of a year\u2019s supply of Wegovy without insurance could be $21,804.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The list price for Wegovy from its manufacturer, Novo Nordisk, is <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.novocare.com\/obesity\/products\/wegovy\/let-us-help\/explaining-list-price.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">$1,349 per package<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of four single-dose pens for any of its doses.
