Keep an eye out for symptoms like <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kidney.org\/kidney-topics\/acute-kidney-injury-aki#:~:text=The%20signs%20and%20symptoms%20of,or%20coma%20(in%20severe%20cases)\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">decreased urination, swelling in the lower extremities, fatigue, and flank pain<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 id=\"gastroparesis\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gastroparesis<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gastroparesis is a condition in which the stomach slows or stops moving food through the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.niddk.nih.gov\/health-information\/digestive-diseases\/gastroparesis\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">digestive system.<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Common symptoms include feeling full quickly or for longer than normal, nausea, and vomiting. The prescribing information notes that Zepbound is associated with these gastrointestinal reactions, which can sometimes be severe, and people with severe gastrointestinal problems or severe gastroparesis should not use this medicine.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 id=\"diabetic-retinopathy\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Diabetic retinopathy<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Diabetic retinopathy occurs when persistently high blood sugar <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nei.nih.gov\/learn-about-eye-health\/eye-conditions-and-diseases\/diabetic-retinopathy\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">damages the retina of the eye<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Symptoms include vision changes and, in later stages, dark spots or streaks in the vision. In rare cases, taking Zepbound may temporarily exacerbate this condition because it can <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aao.org\/newsroom\/news-releases\/detail\/study-weight-loss-drug-doesnt-worsen-eye-disease\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">trigger dramatic drops in blood sugar<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a risk factor for diabetic retinopathy. Dr. Brown says anyone with diabetic retinopathy should have regular exams to make sure their eye disease isn\u2019t worsening.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 id=\"who-should-not-take-zepbound\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Who should not take Zepbound?<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Before using Zepbound, tell your healthcare provider about all of your medical conditions and medical history. There are some medical conditions that require cautious use of Zepbound, although some <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/pi.lilly.com\/us\/zepbound-uspi.pdf?s=pi\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">people should not use Zepbound<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at all because they have a significantly higher risk for serious side effects or complications.
