Fact Checked

It’s generally not recommended to take ibuprofen while on Eliquis since the combination increases the risk of bleeding. Eliquis interacts with NSAIDs, including ibuprofen, aspirin, and naproxen, interfering with a key enzyme called platelet cyclooxygenase. This results in slower blood clotting and a higher risk of bleeding. However, healthcare providers may recommend low doses of ibuprofen for short-term instances of inflammation.
