How to take Evomela

  • Injection routeYou will receive this medicine while you are in a hospital or cancer treatment center. A nurse or other trained health professional will give you this medicine. It usually takes at least 15 minutes to receive one dose of this medicine.

  • Read and follow the patient instructions that come with this medicine. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions.

  • Missed dose: Injection routeThis medicine needs to be given on a fixed schedule. If you miss a dose, call your doctor, home health caregiver, or treatment clinic for instructions.

Serious Side Effects

  • Sores or ulcers on your lips or mouth, trouble swallowing

  • Severe nausea or vomiting

  • Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing

  • Dark urine or pale stools, loss of appetite, yellow skin or eyes

  • Dry mouth, increased thirst, muscle cramps, uneven heartbeat

  • Fever, chills, cough, sore throat, body aches

  • Unusual bleeding, bruising, or weakness

Less Serious Side Effects

  • Mild nausea or vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, stomach pain or upset

  • Weight loss

  • Pain, itching, burning, swelling, or a lump under your skin where the needle is placed
