Is there a generic of Vinate Care?
Vinate Care is a branded generic multivitamin with iron for pregnant or nursing women. The key ingredients are found in other brand-name prenatal multivitamin formulas, such as OB Complete Gold, SE Natal, and Provida OB. You can search the SingleCare website for more information and savings on these products. In addition, all of the active ingredients in Vinate Care are universally available singly or in combination in numerous generic, over-the-counter dietary supplements. Remember, however, that over-the-counter dietary supplements are not well-regulated, so quality, reliability, effectiveness, and safety can vary greatly between products.
What is Vinate Care?
Vinate Care is a prescription brand-name prescription prenatal multivitamin for pregnant or nursing women. It is prescribed to support the growth of a fetus or nursing infant with pyridoxine (vitamin B6), folate (vitamin B9), iron, vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin E, and minerals (magnesium, copper, and zinc).
Folate (vitamin B9) is critical to the fetus's or infant's central nervous system development. Both pyridoxine (vitamin B6) and folate are vitally important to the body's production of red blood cells. Deficiency in any of these two B vitamins can cause anemia in both the mother and the fetus, a common condition during pregnancy.
Iron (ferrous fumarate) is also important to maintain the health of the blood. Iron is the key component of hemoglobin, a protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen to the body's tissues. Iron-deficiency anemia is very common during pregnancy and the months after giving birth. Vitamin C helps the body absorb iron, so it is often included in prenatal vitamins with iron.
Calcium and vitamin D help support healthy bone growth in the fetus and bone health in the mother.
Vinate Care is taken as a tablet once per day.
What are the side effects of Vinate Care?
Side effects from multivitamins, though rare, include, but are not limited to, constipation, diarrhea, or upset stomach. Allergic reactions to vitamins are very rare, but both folate and the inactive ingredients in Vinate Care could cause an allergic reaction. Discontinue Vinate Care if you notice signs of an allergic reaction including wheezing, rash, hives, or facial swelling.
Multivitamins with minerals, such as Vinate Care, taken in large doses can result in side effects from excess mineral intake, such as stomach upset, muscle weakness, stomach bleeding, tooth staining, high blood calcium, and even iron poisoning. Always follow the dosage recommended in the instructions or by your prescribing physician.
