This medication is used as a moisturizer to treat or prevent rough, dry, scaly skin, and minor irritations such as skin burn from radiation therapy and diaper rash. Aqua Care belongs to a group of products known as emollients. Dry skin is usually caused by a loss of water in the upper layer of the skin. This product works by forming an oily layer on top of the skin that traps water in. Aqua Care also helps the dead skin cells to fall off and helps skin to keep in more water.
Aqua Care is available in the form of a topical lotion. Apply this product to affected areas of the skin as needed or as directed on the product label or by your doctor. How often you apply this medication is dependent on the nature of your skin condition. To treat dry hands, you may need to use this product every time you wash your hands.
This product is meant for use on the skin only. Avoid applying this medication on sensitive areas such as your eyes, inside your mouth or nose, and vaginal or groin area, unless otherwise directed by your doctor. Do not apply this medication to open wounds, bruises, or sunburnt areas of the skin. Use this product on a regular basis for maximum effect
Most emollient products such as Aqua Care can be used safely and effectively with no side effects. In rare cases, some patients may experience burning, stinging, redness, or irritation. Consult with your doctor or pharmacist if you experience any of these effects and they persist or worsen. Many patients using this medication do not have any serious side effects.
