What is Fluticasone-Salmeterol used for?

Fluticasone-Salmeterol is a combination medication used to treat or prevent symptoms of an asthma attack such as wheezing and shortness of breath. This medication contains fluticasone and salmeterol and stops the body from releasing a substance that causes inflammation. It also works to relax the muscles in the airways preventing irritation and swelling. Fluticasone-Salmeterol may also be used to stop flare-ups or worsen an attack in patients diagnosed with the chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) associated with chronic bronchitis and/or emphysema.
