Listerine is not a prescription drug and so will probably not be covered by health insurance. Even if it is, your copay cost may be higher than what you would pay with a SingleCare Listerine coupon. Ask your pharmacist to do a price comparison. You may save more money with SingleCare than with insurance.

Listerine is a brand-name line of over-the-counter oral care products. There are numerous brand-name equivalents for most of these products as well as equivalent products sold under generic brands such as Up & Up and Equate.
Listerine is a brand-name family of oral care products that includes mouth rinses, oral film, mouth sprays, chewable tablets, toothpaste, and floss.
Listerine is best-known as an antiseptic mouthwash that helps address bad breath. The antiseptic mouthwash contains the ingredients eucalyptol, menthol, methyl salicylate, and thymol that in combination have been shown to kill bacteria. Listerine mouthwashes marketed as antigingivitis, antiplaque, and “Ultraclean” contain these same active ingredients in the same concentrations without any additional active ingredients and are essentially identical to the original mouthwash.
The second major line of Listerine mouth rinse products contain sodium fluoride and address cavity prevention and control (Total Care, Smart Rinse). When sodium fluoride is topically applied to the teeth, it is incorporated into the enamel and makes it more resistant to cavities and decay. Most of these sodium fluoride mouth rinses also include the antiseptic active ingredients as original Listerine.
A final mouth rinse product addresses the problem of sensitive teeth.
In addition to these mouth rinse products, Listerine also markets antiseptic chewable tablets, oral film, and mouth spray to address bad breath. The product lineup is completed with dental floss and sodium fluoride toothpaste.
Used as directed, Listerine will not cause side effects unless swallowed. If swallowed, Listerine might temporarily cause nausea or vomiting. Allergic reactions are rare and include swelling of the lips and hives.
