  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, or if you have kidney disease, anemia, heart disease, low blood pressure, lung or breathing problems, G6PD deficiency, carbon monoxide poisoning, or smoke inhalation injury.

  • Do not breastfeed during treatment with this medicine.

  • This medicine may cause the following problems:Severe hypotension (low blood pressure)Blood problem (including methemoglobinemia)

  • Your doctor will do lab tests at regular visits to check on the effects of this medicine. Keep all appointments.

  • Lightheadedness, dizziness, or fainting.

  • Some medicine may affect how this medicine works. Tell your doctor if you are using any of the following:Blood pressure medicineDiuretic (water pill)Medicine to treat erectile dysfunction

  • Severe hypotension (low blood pressure) may occur with this medicine. It could be life-threatening and requires immediate medical attention. Your doctor will measure your blood pressure and keep it from going too low while you are receiving this medicine.

  • This medicine may cause a rare, but serious blood problem called methemoglobinemia. Your doctor will measure how much methemoglobin is in your blood and keep it from going too high while you are receiving this medicine.

  • Make sure your doctor knows if you are pregnant or breast feeding.
