Nurtec ODT as treatment for an acute migraine is best taken when the first symptoms of an acute migraine appear. Nurtec ODT, as a preventive therapy for episodic migraine, is taken once every other day.
Take Nurtec ODT for acute migraines as soon as you start to experience symptoms.
Do not remove Nurtec ODT from its packaging until you are immediately ready to take the dose.
Nurtec ODT should be dissolved on or under the tongue. Do not swallow whole or take with water.
You should not take this medication if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless your doctor determines the benefits outweigh the risk. You should also not take Nurtec ODT if you have severe liver or kidney disease.
