How to take Zomacton

• Injection routeYour doctor will prescribe your exact dose and tell you how often it should be given. This medicine is given as a shot under your skin.

• Injection routeYou may be taught how to give your medicine at home. Make sure you understand all instructions before giving yourself an injection. Do not use more medicine or use it more often than your doctor tells you to.

What to do if you miss a dose of Zomacton

Zomacton contraindications

• This medicine is not right for everyone. Do not use it if you had an allergic reaction to somatropin, benzyl alcohol, or metacresol, or if you have cancer, diabetic retinopathy, or acute lung failure.

Zomacton warnings

• Keep all medicine out of the reach of children. Never share your medicine with anyone.

• Rapid growth or weight gain, swelling in your hands, legs, ankles, or feet

• Sudden and severe stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, fever, and lightheadedness

• This medicine may cause the following problems:Hip bone dislocationChanges in blood sugar levelsIncreased pressure in the headPancreatitis (swelling of the pancreas)Increased risk for cancerAdrenal gland problemsThyroid problems

• Tell any doctor or dentist who treats you that you are using this medicine. This medicine may affect certain medical test results.

• Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have kidney disease, diabetes, thyroid problems, pituitary problems, scoliosis (curved spine), Turner syndrome, or a history of cancer. Tell your doctor if your child has Prader-Willi syndrome, especially if he has sleep apnea or breathing problems. Also, tell your doctor if you have ever had open heart surgery, stomach surgery, or trauma caused by an accident.

• Your doctor will do lab tests at regular visits to check on the effects of this medicine. Keep all appointments.

• Trouble breathing, wheezing, new or worsening snoring

• Unusual bleeding, bruising, or weakness

• Some medicines can affect how somatropin works. Tell your doctor if you are using any of the following: CyclosporineEstrogen hormone replacementInsulin or oral diabetes medicineMedicine for seizuresSteroid medicine (including dexamethasone, hydrocortisone, methylprednisolone, prednisolone, prednisone)

• Tell any doctor or dentist who treats you that you are using this medicine. This medicine may affect certain medical test results.

• Your doctor will check your progress and the effects of this medicine at regular visits. Keep all appointments.

• Keep all medicine out of the reach of children. Never share your medicine with anyone.
