Together, these medications help manage symptoms of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), such as wheezing and shortness of breath.
Fluticasone-Salmeterol should not be used for acute bronchospasms. It is not a rescue inhaler. Instead, this medication is considered a maintenance treatment to prevent and control symptoms with daily use.
Fluticasone-Salmeterol is available in an inhalation powder and inhalation aerosol form. The inhalation powder form is available as a generic, and it is approved to treat asthma and COPD. The inhalation aerosol form is approved to treat asthma.
