Anagrelide is an FDA-approved prescription medication used to treat a blood disorder known as thrombocythemia, which is caused by your bone marrow making too many platelets. This medication reduces the number of platelets in the bloodstream by blocking their production.

Anagrelide is available in the form of an oral tablet that can be taken with or without food, usually two to four times daily.
