Aristada is a prescription medicine administered through injection by a healthcare professional and used to treat schizophrenia in adults. Aristada works by decreasing hallucinations (hearing/seeing things that are not there) and improving your cognitive abilities. It also helps you to think more clearly, reduce nervousness, decrease extreme changes in mood, and generally help you feel less agitated. This injection is a long-acting psychiatric and belongs to a group of drugs known as atypical antipsychotics. Drugs in this class commonly assist in restoring the balance of certain natural substances in the brain.
