Inspra is a prescription medicine used as a treatment for congestive heart failure after a heart attack. It is also used to treat high blood pressure. It works by blocking certain chemicals in the body, allowing the amount of sodium and water that the body retains to be lowered.

How to take Eplerenone

  • This medicine may cause hyperkalemia (high potassium levels in your blood).

  • Keep all medicine out of the reach of children. Never share your medicine with anyone.

Eplerenone interactions

  • Do not use eplerenone if you are also using clarithromycin, itraconazole, ketoconazole, nefazodone, nelfinavir, ritonavir, troleandomycin, certain diuretics (water pills, such as spironolactone, triamterene, or amiloride), or potassium supplements or salt substitutes that contain potassium.

  • Some medicines can affect how eplerenone works. Tell your doctor if you are also using any of the following: ErythromycinFluconazoleLithiumSaquinavirOther blood pressure medicine (such as enalapril, verapamil)NSAID pain or arthritis medicine (such as aspirin, diclofenac, ibuprofen, naproxen)
