What is Lactic Acid used for?

Lactic Acid is an emollient that is used to temporarily relieve itching associated with ichthyosis. It increases moisture in the skin by softening and moisturising the top layer of skin. This results in the dead skin falling off, water being retained in the skin and decreased itching and flaking. It is available as a cream.
