This medicine is not right for everyone. You should not receive it if you had an allergic reaction to midazolam.
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have kidney disease, heart failure, lung or breathing problems (including COPD), low blood pressure, eye or vision problems (including glaucoma), or a history of alcohol or drug abuse.
The time it takes for the medicine to wear off varies with each person. However, it may take longer for older adults to recover from the medicine's effects.
Your doctor will check your progress and the effects of this medicine at regular visits. Keep all appointments.
This medicine may make you dizzy or drowsy. Do not drive or do anything else that could be dangerous until you know how this medicine affects you.
This medicine may cause respiratory depression (serious breathing problem that can be life-threatening), especially when used with narcotic pain medicines.
Some medicines can affect how midazolam works. Tell your doctor if you are using cimetidine, diltiazem, erythromycin, itraconazole, ketoconazole, or verapamil.
The time it takes for the medicine to wear off varies with each person. However, it may take longer for older adults to recover from the medicine's effects.
Midazolam may make you drowsy or dizzy for 1 or 2 days after you receive it. Wait 24 hours or until the effects of the medicine have worn off (whichever is longer) before driving or using machinery.
Do not drink alcohol while you are using this medicine.
Tell your doctor if you use anything else that makes you sleepy. Some examples are allergy medicine, narcotic pain medicine, and alcohol. Tell your doctor if you are also using droperidol, fentanyl, meperidine, morphine, or secobarbital.

Extreme tiredness or weakness, slow heartbeat, problems with coordination or walking
Blurred vision or other change in vision, eye pain
Blue lips, fingernails, or skin, trouble breathing, chest pain
Agitation, tremor, restlessness, jerky muscle movement you cannot control (often in your face, tongue, or jaw)
Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
