How to take Prohance
Your doctor will prescribe your dose and schedule. This medicine is given through a needle placed in a vein. It is given just before you have an MRI scan.
A nurse or other health provider will give you this medicine.
This medicine should come with a Medication Guide. Ask your pharmacist for a copy if you do not have one.

This medicine is not right for everyone. You should not receive it if you had an allergic reaction to gadoteridol.
Prohance warnings
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have kidney disease, liver disease, blood problems (including anemia, sickle cell anemia), diabetes, high blood pressure, or a history of asthma, allergies, or seizures.
This medicine may cause the following problems:Nephrogenic systemic fibrosis (NSF)Acute kidney injury (AKI)
This medicine contains a metal called gadolinium, which can stay in your body (including the brain, bones, skin) for a long time (several months to years). Talk to your doctor if you have concerns about this.
Your doctor will do lab tests at regular visits to check on the effects of this medicine. Keep all appointments.

Muscle stiffness, weakness, stiff joints, trouble with moving, or deep bone pain
Numbness, tingling, or burning pain in your hands, arms, legs, or feet
Rash or redness of the skin
Swelling, hardness, tightness, burning, itching, or red or dark patches on the skin
Warmth or redness in your face, neck, arms, or upper chest
