Scytera is a topical medication that temporarily relieves skin conditions like itching, scaling, and flaking due to skin conditions such as psoriasis or seborrheic dermatitis. This prescription medication also treats dandruff. Scytera belongs to a class of drugs called keratoplasty. This medication works by causing the skin to shed dead cells from its top layer, which slows down the growth of skin cells and decreases scaling and dryness.

Apply Scytera according to the directions on the medication label or as directed by your doctor. Some forms of coal tar may be applied one to four times daily.
