How to take Vectibix

  • Injection routeYour doctor will prescribe your dose and schedule. This medicine is given through a needle placed in a vein. This medicine needs to be given slowly, so the needle will have to remain in place for at least an hour.

Vectibix contraindications

  • This medicine is not right for everyone. You should not receive it if you had an allergic reaction to panitumumab, or if you are pregnant.

Vectibix warnings

  • Avoid overexposing your skin to sunlight. Always use sunscreen or sun blocking lotions and wear protective clothing and hats while you are receiving this medicine and for 2 months after the last dose.

  • This medicine may cause the following problems:Severe skin rash or infections, which could be life-threateningInfusion reactionsKidney problemsLung problems, including pulmonary fibrosis or interstitial lung diseaseEye or vision problems

  • Injection routeMedicines used to treat cancer are very strong and can have many side effects. Before receiving this medicine, make sure you understand all the risks and benefits. It is important for you to work closely with your doctor during your treatment.

  • Do not breastfeed during treatment with this medicine and for at least 2 months after the last dose.

  • Tell your doctor if you have kidney disease, or a history of lung or breathing problems.

  • Injection routeIt is not safe to take this medicine during pregnancy. It could harm an unborn baby. Tell your doctor right away if you become pregnant. Use an effective form of birth control during treatment with this medicine and for at least 2 months after the last dose.

  • Fever, chills, trouble breathing, chest tightness, faintness

  • Your doctor will do lab tests at regular visits to check on the effects of this medicine. Keep all appointments.

  • Severe diarrhea, nausea, or vomiting

  • Unusual tiredness or weakness, muscle cramps, confusion

  • Redness, swelling, peeling, or tenderness of the hands or feet

  • Unusual tiredness or weakness, muscle cramps, confusion

  • Dry mouth, increased thirst, muscle cramps, uneven heartbeat

  • Severe diarrhea, nausea, or vomiting

  • Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing

  • Change in how much or how often you urinate, rapid weight gain, swelling in your hands, ankles, or feet

  • Fever, chills, chest tightness, faintness

  • Blistering, peeling, red skin rash

  • Chest pain, trouble breathing, cough, cold sweat, or bluish-colored skin

  • Blurred vision or vision changes, eye redness or pain, watery eyes

  • Dry, itchy, or cracking skin, acne, fingernail changes or swelling around your nails

Less Serious Side Effects

  • Mild diarrhea, nausea, or vomiting
