Luis Bendezu, MD

Luis A. Bendezu was born in Lima, Peru, and came to the U.S. at the age of 4. The oldest of three children, he grew up in Connecticut. He did his undergraduate studies at The Johns Hopkins University and received his medical degree from the University of Connecticut in 1992. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Barnes Hospital/Washington University in St. Louis in 1995. He has been in clinical and academic practice since completing his residency. Dr. Bendezu has held multiple academic positions throughout the years and is currently an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor in Internal Medicine at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.
