Acid Reducer is a group of medications used to prevent and treat heartburn and other symptoms caused by excess acid in the stomach, also known as acid indigestion. It works by reducing the amount of acid in your stomach. The active ingredient in this medication is usually ranitidine which is also known as an H2 blocker.
This product comes in the form of an oral tablet that is usually taken with a glass of water as needed. Read and follow the instructions provided on the product packaging before you start using this medication. If you are still uncertain about how to use this medication then talk to your doctor or pharmacist for additional information. To prevent heartburn and acid indigestion, use this medication for at least 30 to 60 minutes before eating food or drinking beverages.
Do not use more than two tablets within 24 hours, unless advised to do so by your doctor. Stop using this medication and call your doctor promptly if your symptoms continue after using this product, or if they do not improve after you've used this medication for 14 days in a row.
Constipation, headaches, and diarrhea are common side effects that may occur when taking Acid Reducer. Speak with your doctor or pharmacist if you experience any of these effects and they persist or worsen. Many patients using this medication do not have any serious side effects.
