How to take Alogliptin-metFORMIN HCl

  • Some medicines can affect how this medicine works. Tell your doctor about all other medicines that you are using, especially insulin or other diabetes medicines, acetazolamide, cimetidine, dichlorphenamide, dolutegravir, ranolazine, topiramate, vandetanib, or zonisamide.

Serious Side Effects

  • Blistering, peeling, red skin rash

  • Dark urine or pale stools, loss of appetite, stomach pain, yellow skin or eyes

  • Rapid weight gain, swelling in your hands, ankles, or feet, trouble breathing

  • Severe joint pain

  • Fast breathing, trouble breathing, lightheadedness, severe weakness, tiredness, or confusion

  • Large, hard skin blisters

  • Shaking, trembling, sweating, fast or pounding heartbeat, faintness, hunger, confusion

  • Sudden and severe stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, fever

  • Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing

Less Serious Side Effects

  • Cough, stuffy or runny nose, sore throat

  • Diarrhea
