Eloctate

Eloctate is a coagulation modifier used to treat patients with hemophilia A. It is also used to treat and control the frequency of bleeding in these patients. It also helps maintains the stability of patients with hemophilia A who are undergoing surgery. Hemophilia A is caused by factor VIII deficiency. Eloctate works by temporarily replacing the missing coagulation factor VIII and returning it to the blood circulation. Common side effects include muscle pain, joint pain, malaise, headache and rash. It is indicated for use by adults and children 6 years and older. This medication is available as an injection.
