Injectafer is prescribed to patients with iron deficiency anemia who have failed to improve after using oral iron supplements, or cannot tolerate them.

Injectafer is injected two times, at least seven days apart. It is administered as an IV by a healthcare professional. The infusion will take about 15 minutes. Because of the possibility of an adverse reaction, the patient must remain for observation for 30 minutes or more.
