What is Librax?

Librax is available in the form of a capsule. It treats bowel infections, irritable bowel syndrome, stomach ulcers, and other symptoms related to intestinal infection. This medication works to relax the muscles in the stomach and intestines, and slows down the movement of the gut.

Stomach and intestinal cramping are reduced by clidinium while chlordiazepoxide works to reduce anxiety levels. Librax affects the unbalanced chemicals in the brain, producing a calming effect and reduces stomach acid and spasms.

Librax is a controlled substance, so it has the potential for addiction. Only use as prescribed by your doctor to lower the risk of addiction. Your risk of addiction is higher if you have a substance use disorder. It is not recommended to use this medication if you have a bladder obstruction, an enlarged prostate, glaucoma, problems with urination, or if you are allergic to clidinium or chlordiazepoxide. 

Before taking Librax, tell your doctor about your medical conditions and history. Tell your doctor about all of the medications you take, including Rx and OTC medicines, vitamins, and supplements. Librax can form an addiction if not taken properly. Never take more of Librax or for a longer period of time than prescribed by your doctor. If Librax is stopped suddenly, you may experience withdrawal symptoms such as nausea, sweating, shakiness, or seizures. If side effects worsen, contact your doctor immediately.
