What is Mekinist?
Mekinist is an FDA-approved prescription medication used alone, or in combination with other medications, to treat a type of skin cancer known as melanoma. This medication may also be used with dabrafenib to treat thyroid cancer and a type of lung cancer known as non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). This active ingredient is trametinib and it works by slowing the growth of cancer cells.

Mekinist comes in the form of an oral tablet and is usually used once daily, at least one hour before or two hours after a meal.
