What is Mekinist?
Mekinist is an FDA-approved prescription medication used alone, or in combination with other medications, to treat a type of skin cancer known as melanoma. This medication may also be used with dabrafenib to treat thyroid cancer and a type of lung cancer known as non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). This active ingredient is trametinib and it works by slowing the growth of cancer cells.
