Metanx is a prescription dietary supplement used to provide nutritional support in the treatment of diabetic nerve damage (diabetic neuropathy). The active ingredients in Metanx capsules are B vitamins: vitamin B9 (as methylfolate calcium), vitamin B6 (as pyridoxal-5-phosphate), and vitamin B12 (as methylcobalamin). Metanx also contains powdered algae as a source of omega-3 fatty acids. These nutrients help to improve circulation and nerve function in people with diabetes by blocking the chemical and oxidative processes that damage blood vessels. Metanx capsules are taken twice daily under the direction of a doctor.
Your doctor will tell you how much medicine to use. Do not use more than directed.
Carefully follow your doctor's instructions about any special diet.
Take one capsule in the morning and one at night.
