How to take Siliq

  • Injection routeUse a new needle and syringe each time you inject your medicine.

  • This medicine should come with a Medication Guide. Ask your pharmacist for a copy if you do not have one.

  • Injection routeYour doctor will prescribe your exact dose and tell you how often it should be given. This medicine is given as a shot under your skin. This medicine is given as a shot under your skin, often on the upper arms, abdomen (stomach), or thighs.

  • You might not use all of the medicine in each prefilled syringe. Use each prefilled syringe only one time. Do not save an open syringe. If the medicine in the syringe has changed color, or if you see particles in it, do not use it. Do not shake. Do not inject the medicine into areas where the skin is tender, bruised, red, hard, thick, scaly, or affected by psoriasis.

What to do if you miss a dose of Siliq

Siliq contraindications

  • This medicine is not right for everyone. Do not use it if you had an allergic reaction to brodalumab, or you have Crohn's disease.

Siliq warnings

  • This medicine may cause the following problems:Unusual mood or behaviorHigher risk of infection

  • Keep all medicine out of the reach of children. Never share your medicine with anyone.

  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have kidney disease, liver disease, a history of depression or mental health problems, or any type of infection. Tell your doctor if you have tuberculosis (TB) or a history of TB, or have been in close contact with someone who has active TB.

  • Your doctor will do lab tests at regular visits to check on the effects of this medicine. Keep all appointments.

Siliq interactions

  • Some medicines can affect how brodalumab works. Tell your doctor if you are using cyclosporine or a blood thinner (including warfarin).

  • This medicine may interfere with vaccines. Ask your doctor before you get a flu shot or any other vaccines.

Serious Side Effects

  • Depression, anxiety, irritability, trouble sleeping, unusual behavior, thoughts of hurting yourself or others

  • Fever, chills, cough, sore throat, stuffy or runny nose, and body aches

  • Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing

  • Diarrhea that may contain blood, stomach pain

Less Serious Side Effects

  • Redness, pain, swelling, or itching where the shot was given
