How to take Sucraid

  • Your doctor will tell you how much medicine to use. Do not use more than directed. You or your child might take the first and second dose of this medicine at your doctor's office. This is done to see if you or your child are allergic to the medicine.

  • Take one-half of the medicine at the beginning of your meal or snack, and the rest at the end of the meal or snack.

  • Your doctor may tell you or your child to limit the amount of starch that you eat. Carefully follow any special diet that your doctor gives you.

  • Take the medicine with each meal or snack. Mix the medicine with 2 to 4 ounces (about 1/4 to 1/2 cup) of water, milk, or infant formula. Do not mix the medicine with fruit juice. The water, milk, or formula should be cold or at room temperature. You should not use warm or hot liquids because heat will keep the medicine from working as well. Do not warm or heat the liquid after you put the medicine in it.

  • Measure your dose by using the scoop that comes with the medicine or by counting the correct number of drops from the bottle. Rinse the dosing scoop with water after each use.

  • Read and follow the patient instructions that come with this medicine. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions.
