Seizures are caused by disorganized and uncontrolled hyperactivity in the brain. Clobazam is a benzodiazepine. It produces mild sedation by enhancing a critical chemical that slows down the brain, which helps to prevent the overexcited activity of seizures.

Sympazan is a dissolving film that comes in doses of 5 mg, 10 mg, and 20 mg of clobazam per film. Sympazan is taken in a divided dose twice daily. The prescribed dose will depend on body weight.
