  • This medicine is not right for everyone. You should not receive it if you had an allergic reaction to vasopressin or chlorobutanol.

  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have kidney disease, liver disease, heart problems, or blood vessel disease.

  • This medicine may cause the following problems:Worsening of heart problemsReversible diabetes insipidus

  • Confusion, weakness, and muscle twitching

  • Fast, slow, or uneven heartbeat

Vasostrict interactions & what to avoid when taking Vasostrict

  • Some medicines can affect how vasopressin works. Tell your doctor if you are using any of the following:Chlorpropamide, clozapine, cyclophosphamide, demeclocycline, enalapril, felbamate, foscarnet, furosemide, haloperidol, ifosfamide, indomethacin, lithium, methyldopa, pentamidine, vincristineTricyclic (TCA) medicine for depression

  • Tell your doctor if you have heart problems or blood vessel disease.

Serious Side Effects

  • Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing

  • Chest pain that may spread, trouble breathing, nausea, unusual sweating, fainting

  • Confusion, weakness, and muscle twitching

  • Fast, slow, or uneven heartbeat

  • Increase in how much or how often you urinate, dizziness, irritability, restlessness, seizures, swelling of the feet or lower legs

Less Serious Side Effects

  • Pain, itching, burning, swelling, or a lump under your skin where the needle is placed
