Does gabapentin show up on a drug test?

Gabapentin can trigger a false positive on certain urine lab tests. Specifically, it may cause a false positive result on the Ames N-Multistix SG dipstick test used to screen for protein in the urine. Because of this, it’s important to inform the testing provider if you are taking gabapentin.
